For more than a year, the “Gilbert Goons” were an open secret.
They targeted kids at house parties, in fast-food parking lots, in parking garages and parks, videoing their attacks and posting their exploits on social media.
Some victims were beaten with brass knuckles. Others were sent to the hospital.
But neither police nor schools aggressively responded to stop this violence.
A 16-year-old boy, Preston Lord, died in a savage beating at a Halloween party. And attacks on teens have continued.
