Four Realistic Destinations for Nolan Arenado Amid Latest Trade News

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is almost certain to be playing elsewhere next season.
The latest news out of St. Louis had indicated that Arenado will be adding more teams to his list of teams he’d be willing to approve a trade to. If that indeed happens, here are four realistic landing spots for the 13-year veteran.
Los Angeles Dodgers
We are all aware of how aggressive the Dodgers can be when it comes to trades and free agency. A trade to Los Angeles would put Arenado back in the NL West, the division he spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Colorado Rockies.
Constant injuries to usual third baseman Max Muncy could be enough for the Dodgers to ship him out to help acquire the eight-time All Star and 10-time Gold Glove winner.
Seattle Mariners
Seattle is another team that has the willingness to be aggressive when it comes to trades. It acquired Eugenio Suarez at the trade deadline, but the slugger is set to be a free agent after the season.
Taking on the remaining $31 million on Arenado’s contract will be a much cheaper option than signing Suarez to a major extension after the best season of his career.
Philadelphia Phillies
Rumors swirled during the season about a potential Phillies-Cardinals trade involving Arenado and current Philadelphia third baseman Alec Bohm.
There is no reason to believe that those conversations won’t pick back up in the offseason. Phillies general manager Dave Dombrowski certainly isn’t one to shy away from a major trade.
Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto as a landing spot will solely revolve around the free agency of shortstop Bo Bichette. If Bichette returns to Toronto, there will really not be a need to trade for Arenado.
If Bichette does not return, though, that would allow third baseman Ernie Clement to slide to shortstop, opening a spot at third base for Arenado.
