Noah Brown goes to IR, Terry McLaurin practices as Commanders get ready for Cowboys

Good news and bad news on Wednesday for the wide receiver room.
During his press conference, head coach said is expected to practice with the team this week after missing the last two games with a quad injury.
He could be on track to play on Sunday against the Cowboys.

On the other side of the coin, though, is that has been placed on injured reserve.
Quinn said that Brown’s groin injury did not respond well after he returned to practice last week. Brown has missed the last four games and will now have to miss at least the next four games.
Taking Brown’s spot on the active roster will be newly signed defensive end Drake Jackson.
Jackson, a second-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, has appeared in 23 games, recording 21 tackles with nine pass breakups and six sacks. He was placed on the Reserve/Injured list eight games into the 2023 season and did not return for the rest of the year. He also missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing patellar tendon surgery in August of that year. The 49ers waived him in May.
The Commanders have also opened the 21-day practice window for cornerback Jonathan Jones, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. Jones can be activated at any point during this 21-day window. If Jones were to reach the end of this period, the Commanders would need to decide whether to activate him or return him to IR for the rest of the season.
