Cinecomics 2023: all upcoming titles

The 2023 is now upon us and the people of lovers of the genre cinecomics is already waiting for the many films planned. But what are the titles that await us in this new year? We at pridenerd have collected the 2023 cinecomis already announced with the first details and, if present, also the trailer / teaser.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
A recent survey of over 5,000 viewers has crowned Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 as the most awaited film of 2023. The return of the Marvel space team is in fact a real event awaited by fans for years now.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 finds in the cast Will Poulter, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova. The film will be released in theaters on May 3, 2023as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.
Below is the synopsis of the film: “Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will arrive on May 3, 2023 in Italian cinemas. In the Marvel Studios movie the beloved group of outcasts look a little different lately. Peter Quill, still racked by the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe, as well as protect one of their own. A mission that, if not successfully completed, could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them“.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania will open a new chapter in the MCU by leading Phase 5. The film is scheduled for release on February 15, 2023. The film is directed by Peyton Reed, written by Jeff Loveness and starring Paul Ruddnei who we find in the role of Scott Lang and from Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne alongside Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Jonathan Majors, David Dastmalchian and Randall Park.
In the film, Lang and van Dyne explore the Quantum Realm together with their family and face Kang the Conqueror (Majors).
The Flash
Another highly anticipated cinecomics 2023 is The Flash. His release is currently scheduled for June 16, 2023. In The Flash, Barry Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which brings unforeseen consequences to his timeline. The Flash will be directed by IT’s Muschietti, with a script by Birds of Prey and Batgirl’s Christina Hodson.
Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen / The Flash, both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s iterations of Bruce Wayne / Batman, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen. Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso playing currently unknown roles. The trailer of the film will be presented at Super Bowl 2023.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Let’s continue with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which will be released at the cinema on December 25, 2023, distributed by Warner Bros Italia. The film sees Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles of rival half-brothers Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Orm Marius/Ocean Master, respectively, from the first film. Additionally, Aquaman stars Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Kidman and Randall Park reprising their roles as Mera, King Nereus, David Kane/Black Manta, Thomas Curry, Atlanna and Dr. Stephen Shin.
The Lost Kingdom also features a number of newcomers, including Vincent Regan (300, Troy ) as Atlan, as well as Jani Zhao (South) as Stingray and Indya Moore (Escape Room: Tournament of Champions) as Karshon. Also, Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) has been cast in an undisclosed role.
The Marvels
The Marvels will be released in cinemas on July 28, 2023. In addition to Iman Vellani, Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris, The Marvels stars Samuel L. Jackson, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur and Park Seo-joon with Zawe Ashton as the villain of the movie. The Marvels will feature a team up of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. The upcoming film will also continue storylines first introduced in WandaVision and the Ms. Marvel franchise.
Kraven The Hunter
Kraven The Hunter will be released on October 6, 2023. In addition to Taylor-Johnson as the protagonist, Sony’s Kraven the Hunter stars Fred Hechinger as Dmitri Smerdyakov / Chameleon, another Spider-Man villain and Kraven’s half-brother. Also starring are Ariana DeBose as Calypso, a voodoo priestess with ties to Kraven; and Christopher Abbott as the Stranger, a Spider-Man villain who will serve as the film’s main antagonist. Additionally, Russell Crowe and Levi Miller have been cast in undisclosed roles, with Alessandro Nivola set to play an undisclosed antagonist.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, this will be one of the most anticipated films of the year. The return of one of the most beloved heroes ever in many multiversal variants, for the sequel to a highly celebrated title.
With the screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Dave Callaham we will hear the voices of prominent actors such as Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Issa Rae, Brian Tyree Henry, Rachel Dratch, Jake Johnson and of course Shameik Moore who returns to play Miles Morales. The film will be released on June 1, 2023.
Blue Beetle
Blue Beetle is written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and directed by Angel Manuel Soto. All eyes will be on Xolo Maridueña, who is excellent as Miguel in Cobra Kai. The release of the film is set for August 18, 2023.
The film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and stars Xolo Maridueña as Reyes alongside Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Trujillo and Susan Sarandon. It is produced by DC Studios, Entertainment One , S&K Pictures and Safran Company and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
We conclude our list with a somewhat particular cinecomic, that is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. of Creed II, it stars Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Ron Perlman, Pete Davidson, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, John DiMaggio and Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Bay will produce the film while Steven Spielberg will once again serve as an executive producer on the franchise. Rise of the Beasts will hit theaters on June 9, 2023.
This is the synopsis of the film: “In 1994, a pair of archaeologists from Brooklyn are involved in an adventurous journey around the world related to an ancient conflict between three factions of transformers: the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terrorcons”.
