Alabama will be without receiver Lotzeir Brooks for the South Carolina game, per the latest availability report released Friday night.
Brooks had been listed as doubtful Thursday night. He was downgraded to “out” on Friday. Tight end Danny Lewis Jr. was also ruled out for the game this week.
Meanwhile, starting guard Geno VanDeMark was upgraded to probable. He was listed as questionable Thursday.
No. 4 Alabama will face South Carolina on Saturday (2:30 p.m. CT, ABC) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
So far this season, Brooks has caught 16 passes for 255 yards. That included a vital fourth-down catch against Missouri late in the game. He’s emerged as a freshman in the Alabama offense.
Brooks is fourth on the team in receiving yards behind Germie Bernard, Ryan Williams and Isaiah Horton.
VanDeMark has been Alabama’s primary starter at right guard this season, but he started at left guard against Tennessee while Jaeden Roberts got the start at right guard. Alabama has been rotating offensive linemen throughout the season. VanDeMark is a redshirt senior.
