Colorado QB Kaidon Salter Announces Career News on Wednesday

Kaidon Salter and his Colorado Buffaloes squad are looking to go on a run late in the season after getting off to a 3-4 start.
Although they had a bye during Week 8, they did upset the No. 22 Iowa State Cyclones the week prior, and for one of the few times this season, seem to have some positive momentum working in their favor.
Salter has had an up-and-down season to say the least, as he opened the year as the starter for the first two games, but was benched for the third in favor of Ryan Staub. The team then went back to Salter in Week 4 and he has been at the helm since. On the year, Salter has thrown for 1,156 yards and nine touchdowns with four interceptions, while also rushing for 270 yards and a team-high five touchdowns.
Although Salter didn’t exactly burst onto the Power 4 scene like many expected after a great career at Liberty, he is still one of the more recognizable names in college football. Something that has surely played a role in his name, image and likeness opportunities.
On Wednesday, the Colorado gunslinger announced on Instagram that he is the latest player to sign on to 7-Eleven’s “Always Open” campaign.
“The Always Open 2025 collection is officially live on 7Collection.com,” wrote Salter.
Salter, like many other athletes across college football have had the opportunity to benefit off of their NIL, with College Sports Network estimating that his NIL value is nearly $700,000.
A couple of other notable players around college football to be a part of the “Always Open” campaign include Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion.
Salter will face arguably one of his toughest tests as the Colorado quarterback on Saturday, as he and the Buffs will head to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Utes (5-2). Although Utah fell out of the top 25 following its loss to BYU this past weekend, they are as stout as they come on defense.
Utah’s defense ranks No. 23 in total defense, No. 11 in passing yards allowed and No. 23 in third down defense.
Kickoff is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.
