New Orleans airport is preparing for high traffic next week. In October 2024, the airport installed new systems to make passenger processing more efficient in preparation for the busy festive period and the Super Bowl.
At the time, the airport disclosed that TSA was installing 11 new automated screening lanes (ASLs) with Computed Tomography (CT) scanners at the airport checkpoint. The equipment allows for two extra lanes during Super Bowl departures, increasing the number of lanes from 15 to 17.
