PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers could be getting themselves a significant boost for their game against the Cleveland Browns.
Jalen Ramsey returned to individuals on Friday, and he even admitted he got some reps in team periods, too. That type of participation could signal a late rise for Ramsey, who could play against the Browns.
“I never want to miss any type of playing time,” Ramsey said. “I love the game, love to be there for my teammates, so any chance I get to help that, I’ll take the opportunities.”
Ramsey smiled and said ‘we’ll see’ when fully asked outright if he would play on Sunday, and admitted that the quick turnaround against the Cincinnati Bengals the next week could be a big factor in their decision to ultimately play him or not on Sunday.
“Yeah, it matters,” Ramsey said of the short turnaround.
If he can not play, it could be Beanie Bishop that is set up to get an opportunity otherwise. Brandin Echols would be set to start in the slot.
Ramsey added that while he can push to play, at the end of the day, it is the trainers and coaches who decide if he plays or not.
“They’re still the bosses,” Ramsey said. “They have the authority. I have to listen to them, just as much as they have to listen to how I feel. … We’ve been having good conversations, good dialogue about how things have been progressing.”
Ramsey, who has played outside cornerback, nickel cornerback, and safety, is a key piece for the team, so multiple people will have to replace what he does if he is going to miss any time.
Latest update signals great injury news for Jalen Ramsey
