Coming out of their surprising 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell knew he had lost one starting offensive lineman, Christian Mahogany, for the foreseeable future. Campbell said the left guard would be sidelined for a “long time, probably” after he was carted off with a significant leg injury in the fourth quarter.
But the status of two other members within the banged-up unit — tackles Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell — had yet to be determined.
“We’ll see where Decker is at and Sewell, how they feel,” Campbell said after the game.
Less than 24 hours, the answers became a bit more lucid.
