Sunday NFL betting with QB injury news: This FanDuel NFL parlay involving Vikings, 49ers, Giants pays over 6-1

Nothing will move an NFL line quite like quarterback news, and we’ve seen that yet again throughout the week with the latest Week 4 NFL odds. The Chargers opened Week 4 as 3.5-point favorites against the New York Giants, but after the news of Jaxson Dart making his first NFL start in place of veteran Russell Wilson, the Giants have become 6.5-point underdogs in the latest Week 4 NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. The status of Brock Purdy’s return after missing the last two weeks with a toe injury has caused that spread to move multiple times throughout the week. But with news and comments sounding optimistic about Purdy’s playing status for Sunday against the Jaguars, the 49ers are 3.5-point favorites in the latest Week 4 NFL odds at FanDuel.
A quarterback’s availability has a significant effect on the over/under totals as well, and the SportsLine model projects value in Under 43.5 points for Giants vs. Chargers with unknowns about how Dart will perform in his NFL debut. It likes the 49ers to cover as 3.5-point favorites at home against the Jaguars, in a game you would expect to have the 49ers favored by a larger amount if Purdy didn’t have any injury concerns. It also likes Over 40.5 points from Vikings vs. Steelers in Ireland with Carson Wentz starting for J.J. McCarthy (ankle). Those NFL picks, tied to quarterback injuries or positional changes, are part of an NFL parlay at FanDuel Sportsbook that pays out over 6-1.
The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model is on a sizzling 39-19 run on top-rated picks dating back to 2024. Anybody following its NFL betting picks at sportsbooks and on betting sites could have seen strong returns.
Three Sunday NFL quarterback-altered betting picks for NFL Week 4 (odds subject to change):
49ers (-3.5) vs. Jaguars (-105)
Giants vs. Chargers Under 43.5 points (-110)
Vikings vs. Steelers Over 40.5 points (-112)
Combining the model’s three picks into an NFL parlay at FanDuel would result in a payout of +605 (risk $100 to win $605).
49ers (-3.5) vs. Jaguars (-105, FanDuel)
Purdy has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, yet the 49ers are still 3-0 on the season. San Francisco defeated the Saints, 26-21, and Cardinals, 16-15, over the last two weeks with Mac Jones at quarterback, however, the 49ers failed to cover the spread in both contests. Purdy has been a limited participant at practice throughout the week, as has Jones, who exited last week with a knee injury despite playing every snap. The 49ers have been hit hard with injuries to begin the season, and star defensive end Nick Bosa became the latest injury victim with a torn ACL suffered last week. The often-injured Christian McCaffrey is healthy, however, as an integral piece to the offense. The model projects the 49ers to cover the spread in 50% of simulations for Week 4 NFL bets.
Giants vs. Chargers Under 43.5 points (-110, FanDuel)
Dart brings excitement to Giants fans who already are viewing this as a lost season in terms of playoff potential after an 0-3 start. However, despite being a first-round pick, there’s no guarantee Dart tears up the league from his first pass, and although he’ll have a boost from the home crowd, his debut comes against one of the league’s top defenses. The Chargers have the No. 4 scoring defense in the NFL, allowing 16.7 points per game, while surrendering the second-fewest yards per pass (5.5). Dart, the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was impressive during the preseason, but this is a significantly tougher challenge than anything he’s faced yet. The model projects the Under to hit in 63% of simulations.
Vikings vs. Steelers Over 40.5 points (-112, FanDuel)
The Steelers and Vikings play at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday in the NFL’s first game in Ireland, and although the Irish NFL fans will get to see one future Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers for the Steelers, they’ll also see a Week 1 backup in Carson Wentz. Wentz has been a successful NFL starter at times throughout his 10-year NFL career, and last week, he led the Vikings to 48 points against the Bengals. The model believes Wentz can make enough plays to lead a talented Vikings playmaking group to points against the Steelers with McCarthy (ankle) out, and the Steelers are 12th in the NFL in scoring at 24 ppg this season. The model projects the Over to hit in 55% of simulations.
