The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday announced criminal charges against an Indian government employee in connection with a foiled plot to kill a Sikh separatist leader living in New York City.
Vikash Yadav, 39, had been an officer in India’s Research and Analysis Wing spy service. He faces murder-for-hire and money laundering charges in a planned killing that prosecutors disclosed last year.
Yadav remains at large.
