US Stock Market Spooked By China’s DeepSeek AI But Is It Warranted

Remember when Phil Mickelson joined the world of content creation? Well, he’s been making waves with his fun YouTube videos, often promoting LASIK Golf and hanging out with other creators. Recently, he teamed up with YouTube golf influencer Grant Horvat for a hilarious video where they played golf and had some great conversations. In one funny moment, Mickelson jokingly suggested that a fellow LASIK Golf pro (who happened to be Dustin Johnson) wasn’t too bright, leaving Johnson looking puzzled. The whole segment was pretty entertaining, and fans were eagerly waiting for the full video to drop on Grant Horvat’s channel.
The full episode has now been uploaded to Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel, and it’s clear that Dustin Johnson was ready to dish out some trash talk to Phil Mickelson. At one point, Johnson quipped, “This smash feels a lot like a US Open… Phil’s going to finish second.” Ouch! Mickelson, of course, has had his fair share of close calls at the US Open, finishing second a whopping six times.
Johnson’s joke didn’t stop there. He went on to tease Mickelson about his collection of second-place medals, saying, “I got sick, I was cleaning out some stuff, I found a box, I had six of them six second-place medals together… just what you wanted to find!” He even suggested they “throw six Golds next to it, even it out” – a nod to Mickelson’s six second-place finishes at the majors. Mickelson took it all in stride, but you could tell Johnson was relishing the opportunity to poke fun at his friend. As Johnson said, “You’ve won a US Open, and you’ve won it at Oakmont… I’ve been seen, did they do some renovations to it?” The whole exchange was all in good fun, but it’s clear Johnson was ready to get his revenge on Mickelson.

So, now that Johnson has turned that page it’s only fair we read the chapter. So, let’s take a look at Mickelson‘s rather unfortunate US Open history.

The almost champion of the US Open- Phil Mickelson
Phil Mickelson’s golf career has been nothing short of phenomenal, with wins in three of the four major championships. But there’s one title that’s always seemed just out of reach: the US Open. Despite his incredible talent, Mickelson has finished second a record six times in the US Open. To put that in perspective, golf legends like Bobby Jones, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus each finished second four times – and that was the previous record. It’s a testament to Mickelson’s consistency and skill, but also a reminder of the one major title that’s slipped through his fingers.

Mickelson’s US Open record is still seriously impressive, though. He’s one of the top 10 golfers with the most US Open appearances, with at least 30 under his belt. He’s completed 25 US Opens, which ties him for sixth-best all-time, and his six top-3 finishes (all of which were second-place finishes) rate sixth-best in tournament history. But that’s not all that he has experienced at the tournament, as his 2006 US Open meltdown is arguably the worst heartbreak in his career. Sure, he’s never taken home the US Open title, but Mickelson’s record is still one to be admired. He’s proven himself to be one of the greatest golfers of his generation, and his numerous close calls at the US Open have only added to his legend. So will 2025 be the year he finally gets the trophy? What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below!
