The Boys 3 gave us an appointment at fourth seasonalready confirmed by Prime Video, with an epic season finale that has recalibrated the balance of the series and paved the way for exciting new stories. The fate of some characters remained in the balance, that of others was well defined by the writers. Someone the showrunner Eric Kripke he wanted to give a happy ending, for someone else the race in the series is over (more or less, as we will see). In the aftermath of the release of episode 8 of the third season, Kripke has clarified things by specifying which actors could return and how. The Boys 3: What happened in the finale
In the season finale of The Boys 3 the final battle between Soldatino and Patriot took place (Jensen Ackles And Antony Starr), who turned out to be father and son. The plan developed by Butcher (Karl Urban) and the Boys to kill Patriot, however, didn’t go as planned. In the Vought tower Maeve clashed (Dominique McElligott), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Toy Soldier, Patriot and the Boys. Maeve, determined to eliminate Patriot with the help of Soldatino, however, soon realized that the latter’s atomic explosion would endanger dozens of people in the building, as well as the people in the room. So she gave up the one chance to kill Patriot by jumping out the window with Little Soldier just before the latter exploded. The whole world thought she was dead but we found out she wasn’t. Deprived of her powers due to Soldatino, she has decided to leave with her girlfriend Elena of hers and start a new life as an ordinary person. Meanwhile, just before Patriot in a fit of anger had killed Black Noir because, in many years, he had never revealed to him that he knew he was Soldatino’s son. As for the latter, he was sedated thanks to the nerve gas and again brought back into a cryogenic sleepthis time under the watchful eye of Grace Mallory (Laila Robins).
Will Soldatino return in the fourth season?
Talking with Entertainment Weeklyshowrunner Eric Kripke has left the door open to the character of Soldatino. “An old TV rule is never to kill anyone unless it’s really, really necessary. Never close a door or open a window. We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldatino. make another appearance, “he said. So, if not next season, we will definitely see the character again soon. Jensen Ackles, for his part, was thrilled to be part of the series and told Kripke: “Dude, contact me anytime. Tell me when to arrive and I’ll come running.”

A happy ending for Maeve
In the comic from which it is based The Boys, Queen Maeve’s character dies at some point. But Eric Kripke told TVLine not only that he never thought of killing her in the series, but that he also wanted to give her a happy ending. “We were intentionally building a happy ending for her, for many reasons. One, she deserved it. Believe it or not, that of The Boys it’s a moral universe, and when you make the right choices, you get rewarded and she deserved a happy ending with Elena, “he explained. Also, the showrunner didn’t want to fall into the cliché, much criticized in series like The 100 And Buffy The Vampire Slayerso often in the series to die are the gay characters or more generally queer. “I am aware of this and I agree with the criticisms about it. I won’t do it too, ”the author specified, saying that it was simply time to let the character move on. But fear not, not even that to Maeve is a final goodbye. “Maeve and Dominique will take a break … but the series will definitely not end without seeing Maeve again,” assured him.
Black Noir will still be there (more or less)
The situation becomes more interesting for Black Noir. Curiously, the one character who really died in the third season finale will (in some ways) return for sure in the fourth. How? The actor Nathan Mitchell will return to wear the Black Noir mask but in the role of a completely different character. “A character who is completely silent and with a black mask can be easily replaced,” Kripke said. “It’s definitely not the last time we’ve seen Black Noir as a hero. Only the boy who was in Noir’s costume in season 3 left. But now Nathan will play a new character. really interesting and hilarious. We will explore it as the season progresses. ”Remember, on the other hand, that in the finale of the third season Patriot showed up in front of Vought CEO Ashley, A-Train and Abyss with the Noir mask on the table. Vought is likely to cover up Noir’s murder and simply have another person wear the costume, the new character Kripke talks about.
