Wright Patterson Air Force Base’s Airspace Closed After Drones Spotted

Ohio’s largest air base, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, has become the latest military base to report mysterious drones flying over its airspace ( Wright-Patterson is also a birthplace of aviation ). One of the biggest stories in the United States at the moment is that mystery drones are appearing around airports and other sensitive installations around the US (although many of the claims appear to be mistaking the lights of normal aircraft for drones ).
Wright-Patterson closed after drones spotted
Drones were detected flying over Wrighter-Patterson on Friday. After the drones had been detected over the base, a NOTAM was issued that closed the airspace on Friday night and Saturday morning. The Air Base is home to the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Materiel Command, the 655th ISR Wing, the 445th Airlift Wing, the 88th Air Base Wing, the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, and more.
The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base spokesman, Bob Purtiman spoke with The War Zone on Sunday (by which time the airspace had been reopened). He said,
