Alabama construction firm gets $124.8 million military housing contract

An Alabama company will build barracks for single enlisted troops at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
BL Harbert International LLC, Birmingham, Alabama, competed with five other companies to win the bid, per a department of defense notice on March 30.
The $124.8 million project, with expected completion date of April 5, 2029, was among contract announcements totaling $5.7 billion on Monday.
Among them, Hexagon US Federal Inc. – Huntsville, Alabama, gets $34.7 million to provide hardware, software and services for emergency response systems at Marine Corps installations for a third year.
Job locations include two in Japan and 11 in the U.S. across seven states, with expected completion date of March 31, 2027.
In addition, Range Generation Next LLC, Sterling, Virginia, was awarded a $14 million contract for ongoing working supporting operations at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site, located at the U.S. Army Garrison-Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands in the Central Pacific Ocean.
“Work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 1, 2028,” the notice said.
“The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $546,696,690.”
