A new video potentially gives us our first look at the massive iOS 19 redesign that Apple reportedly will unveil this June at WWDC25.
As previous rumors indicated, the next major iOS upgrade supposedly will take inspiration from the Vision Pro’s visionOS, integrating many of its design elements.
iOS 19 may take design cues from visionOS
In January, leaker Jon Prosser shared a mockup video revealing the sleek new design of the iOS 19 Camera app. More recently, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said Apple will introduce a major visual overhaul with iOS 19 and macOS 16. It would be one of the biggest redesigns in the operating systems’ history, with updated icons, menus, apps, windows and system buttons.
Now, in a new video, Prosser gives us our first look at the new iOS 19 design. The UI elements seem inspired by visionOS, featuring a glossy look.
Prosser notes that Apple will focus entirely on a visual overhaul, without making any notable functional changes in iOS 19. Unsurprisingly, given the current state of Apple Intelligence, the leaker’s sources say Apple won’t add any new AI features, either. This could change in a future build, though, especially since the OS remains in development.
Based on the video, iOS 19’s UI elements will adopt a glassy look with rounded corners. All of Apple’s native apps will also receive a similar visual overhaul, including the keyboard. According to Prosser, some of the new UI elements are already visible in the Apple Sports and Apple Invites apps.
Gurman says this is not the real deal
Despite the leak from Prosser looking authentic, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says not to believe the “iOS 19 images floating around.” In a post on Threads, he says they seem “to be based on either very old builds or vague descriptions, missing key features. Expect more from Apple in June. ”
Apple will host WWDC25 from June 9 to 13, so we are just over two months away from getting our first official look at iOS 19.
