See Inside Chaos at Airports Across US Amid Government Shutdown: Photos

Photos and videos shared on social media have captured chaotic scenes at airports across the United States amid the partial government shutdown.
Passengers have reported facing extreme delays of several hours at airports in Atlanta, Georgia, and Chicago, Illinois, and other areas, with lines wrapping around the airport security section and beyond.
On February 14, Congress let funding expire for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), amid a disagreement over immigration enforcement.
As TSA agents are considered essential workers, they have to show up for work regardless of whether they are paid or not. At least 376 officers have quit their jobs since the shutdown began, according to the DHS.
Newsweek has contacted the TSA and the DHS for comment via email.
Why It Matters
The latest government shutdown, which began on February 14, is the third shutdown in less than six months that has forced TSA agents to work without pay, screening passengers and baggage at airports.
Major airline CEOs have warned that the shutdown could worsen delays and urged lawmakers to restore DHS funding, amid rising operational and safety concerns.
