Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Arkansas, from Texarkana to West Memphis, from Fort Smith to Helena, to all the ships on Greers Ferry. Let’s go to press . . . . Sen. Tom Cotton (R-From These Parts) has proposed temporarily pausing the penalties for using off-road diesel on the roads. For those not raised on a farm, it goes like this: The government doesn’t tax diesel as much if it’s used on off-road farm equipment. But that non-taxed fuel is dyed red, and if the law catches you driving down the highway using red-dyed fuel (they can check), that’s a big ticket, maybe four figures’ worth. Senator Cotton’s proposal would allow red-dyed fuel in diesel motors even on the highway. It would help those using diesel trucks, for now. A better way would be to get that Strait of Hormuz open again, and bring the conflict with Iran to an end . . . . We were thumbing through the Washington Post the other day–these days
